La Feria Detroit Spanish Tapas Naomi Khalil
naomi khalil, owner and Business Manager of La Feria, is also a life long devotee of Spanish culture, cuisine and traditions. A Spanish teacher and school administrator by training, her true love for all things Spanish intensified after living in Spain and traveling extensively throughout the country for over 15 years, where she not only mastered the art of folk Flamenco dancing, but also developed a passion about sharing the magic of Spain with all those in her native Detroit. After working in both business sector and school district administrative positions, Naomi has gained the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure both the financial stability and the community's love for La Feria, thereby making her dream a reality in Detroit.
La Feria Detroit Spanish Tapas Pilar Baron Hidalgo
pilar baron hidalgo, the creative mind and spirit of La Feria, is both owner and head chef, positioned to share her multi-generation family recipes with all of Detroit. Pilar , one of eleven children, was born in 1968 in Seville, Spain, but thanks to her father's job lived in a number of Spanish regions (Melilla, Sevilla, Burgos, San Sebastian, las Islas Canarias), and was able to discover and learn first hand about each area's very unique gastronomy. A ceramicist and interior decorator by profession, Pilar has always loved experimenting in the kitchen and perfecting the amazing flavors of Spanish cuisine. Her culinary talents and nationality will authenticate La Feria as Michigan's premier Spanish Tapas Restaurant.
